Note that the prominent fort at Borough Hill (SK 210 175), on a bluff overlooking the Trent and approximately 1km south-south-west of Walton-on-Trent Church, is an Iron Age univallate Hill Fort (Scheduled Monument 1017742).  It is not Roman in origin or use, and is approximately 2km south-south-west of the New Road.
